Each time a winning cluster lands, the symbols used are collected in the Donkey Destruction Meter (left-hand side of the reel frame). The meter has 3 milestones for players to complete, and each helps level-up the gameplay for more generous payouts:
Stage 1: When you’ve collected 18 symbols in the meter, all rock symbols (lowest paying) are removed from the reels.
Stage 2: Hit 49 symbols, and all rock and gem symbols are removed.
Stage 3: Once you’ve 50 symbols in the meter, all symbols except Golden Nuggets (bonus symbol) are removed from the reels, and additional nuggets are added.
Golden Nuggets are a bonus symbol, but they do not count in winning clusters.
